Community Volunteer Opportunity — Students Welcome!

The Ponte Vedra Community Association would love to help connect neighbors, especially students needing service hours, with meaningful volunteer opportunities right here in our community.

One upcoming opportunity is with Blessings in a Backpack, helping pack food for children in need over the summer.

Volunteers will be packing every Thursday morning beginning June 4 through August 6 at Christ Episcopal Church. Please meet in the courtyard at 7:50 AM. Packing begins at 8:00 AM and should take approximately one hour.

Important time change: On June 18 and June 25, packing will begin at 7:30 AM so volunteers can be finished before 8:30 AM.

Students are encouraged to participate, can bring a friend and should bring any required service hour forms with them.

Please text Kathy at 201-406-3701 if you plan to attend.

Croquet Open House a Great Success

The Ponte Vedra Community Association's Croquet Open House was a wonderful success, bringing neighbors of all ages together to celebrate the end of the school year and enjoy one of our community's unique treasures.

Residents gathered on the croquet lawns behind the elementary school for an evening of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition. For many attendees, it was their first opportunity to visit the croquet fields and learn more about the sport, while others enjoyed introducing friends and neighbors to the game.

We were honored to welcome St. Johns County Commissioner Krista Joseph and Parks and Recreation Director Ryan Kane, who joined us for the event and spent time visiting with community members.

Most importantly, the evening provided a chance for neighbors to connect, meet new friends, and strengthen the sense of community that makes Ponte Vedra such a special place to live. A great time was had by all, and we look forward to hosting more events that bring our community together in the months ahead.

Membership News & Updates

The PVCA Board is actively exploring new ways to grow membership, increase event participation, and strengthen our sense of community.

A key part of that effort is the incredible work of our Block Captains. Their communication with friends and neighbors helps keep our community connected and informed. We truly appreciate the time and energy they dedicate to the PVCA.

Current Block Captains should be on the lookout for an upcoming email requesting feedback and ideas as we plan exciting new initiatives… did someone say Block Party?!

If you are interested in becoming a Block Captain, please reach out to Chris Huppert at chuppert1022@gmail.com for more information. And if you are unsure who your current Block Captain is, we encourage you to reach out as well. We are continuing to identify and fill coverage gaps so we can improve communication throughout the entire community.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the PVCA.

Join the Social Committee

If you're interested in joining PVCA's new social committee, please join us at the home of board member Melinda McManus at 5:30 on Wednesday, June 10. We learned from our recent survey that our members desire more frequent, varied opportunities to gather with their neighbors. We'd love your ideas and involvement! RSVP to melindajmcmanus@gmail.com.

Save the Date: Candidate Forums Hosted by the PVCA

These forums are an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates, learn about their priorities, and stay informed on important local issues. Additional details will be announced soon. All community members are encouraged to attend.

The Difference Between PVCA & MSD

We have received many emails from PVCA members recently asking for help with code enforcement which is not within PVCA's purview.

PVCA is primarily a social organization that builds community, welcomes new neighbors, and increases fellowship through the following annual events: the Tree Lighting in December and the Sweetheart Dance in February.

Ponte Vedra MSD is a Municipal Service District and provides supplemental services to the county in a variety of areas including emergency services, parking, traffic control, trash collection, beautification, cable, fire protection, utilities, recreational facilities, and law enforcement. Individual trustees & contact information are listed at the end of this newsletter. MSD's website is here. MSD's 2025 newsletter is here.
